Oracle and HP have settled the dispute on the former company's hiring of Mark Hurd, who headed HP as chief executive and president. A lawsuit filed by HP claimed Hurd would violate agreements to protect its trade secrets. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 20, HP modified its separation agreement with Hurd, who claimed he would protect HP's confidential information and gave up rights to 330,000 shares of restricted HP stock.
